There were 13 members and 5 guests on a perfect autumnal day for a golf. The sun threatened and then indeed did come out for a few minutes and the course was in magnificent condition. The food and hospitality were excellent and all enjoyed the day. The scoring reflected the difficulty of the course with little run on the fairways and slow greens.
The Team winners were David Torrance and Nick Archer with 43 points followed on countback by Stuart McCurry and Simon Armstrong on 40 points.
The Nearest the Pins was won by guests Adrian Ring and Gerald Curtis.
The Individual Guest winner was Neil Buthee with 32 points.
Stuart McCurry on 36 points won the Presidents Cup – congratulations – playing of 28 (cut 2) with David Torrance on 34, runner-up playing off 28 (cut 1).
The next event is at Letchworth on Monday 28th December 2015. The booking form will be sent out in the next few weeks, so now is the time to think about inviting your family and friends for fresh air after the festive celebrations. Letchworth is a fun and informal event and at £50, for Golf, Coffee and Bacon Roll on arrival and Lunch after, represents fantastic value.
